Crispy Strips RECIPE PREPARATION:

Wash the chicken breast well, cut into strips and let it drain. Grind the cornflakes not very finely. Beat the eggs well, add salt, pepper and chilli. I love KFC's Crispry Strips, and this Sunday I decided to try it at home. I searched the net for all kinds of recipes and I was inspired by everything, so I can't say that it was a certain recipe that I was 100% guided by.

Unfortunately, this tour I will not put pictures with the whole manufacturing process because after the preparations and preparation, my kitchen does not look so good. All I can say is that they didn't come out like at KFC, but they're very close. Maybe the most homemade Crispy Strips I've ever eaten. Of course, I cooked them just like any crow praises its chicks

Let's get down to business and tell you the ingredients. I mention that I made several portions and that's why I will specify larger quantities, but if you use a single chicken breast, instead of two pieces, as I used, then you can reduce the quantities by half.

  • 2 x boneless chicken breast
  • 2 x bags of cornflakes (I bought Forza)
  • 4 x eggs
  • 1 x deep plate filled with flour
  • 4 x & # 8220dogs& # 8221 of garlic
  • half an envelope of paprika & # 8211 powder
  • half an envelope of chilli & # 8211 powder
  • 1 x tablespoon pepper
  • 1 x tablespoon large salt (not fine salt)

Method of preparation

Cut the garlic into very small pieces and mix with salt, pepper, paprika and chilli in a large bowl until everything looks like a relatively homogeneous mixture. The two pieces of chicken breast are washed and cleaned very well. Then cut the whole chicken breast into thin strips (similar to the thickness of the Crispy Strips strips, just like you see them in KFC). After cutting, there will be several such strips that must be given by the mixture of spices that I described above. You don't have to give them too much by mixing & # 8211 a second on one side and a second on the other side is enough.

Each strip of spiced chicken breast is placed in a large, sturdy bag. After you have finished seasoning all the chicken breast strips and putting them in the bag, pour the rest of the remaining spice mixture into the bag. Tie the bag and shake it well so that all the spices inside mix with the chicken breast strips. Then leave the bag in the fridge to soak for 2 & # 8211 4 hours (preferably 4 hours, but it works well if you only have 2 hours available).

After the chicken breast strips have been soaked long enough, prepare the work surface just before you start cooking. You need a pot or pot in which to put enough oil so that the strips actually boil in oil and you do not need to turn them on one side or the other like in a saucepan. Beat the 4 eggs in a large, deep plate until smooth.

Heat the oil well in the cauldron before frying something and while this is happening, take the strips out of the bag, removing the garlic pieces by hand. Remove the cornflakes over a large area, preferably right next to the stove, and grind them well with a rolling pin or a glass if you do not have a rolling pin in the house. Now everything is ready!

Carefully take each strip of chicken breast and pass it through the flour. Then soak it in the egg mixture, then roll it well through the ground cornflakes so that it is covered with flakes on each side. Put the strip in the cauldron with hot oil and let it boil in the oil for about 6 & # 8211 7 minutes. Depending on the size of the kettle, you will fit 4 & # 8211 5 strips on the frying pan.

To avoid excess oil, I recommend putting about 3 & # 8211 4 paper towels on the tray where you are going to remove the Crispy Strips. Let it cool for about 10 minutes before consuming and that's about it.

Even if it seems difficult, it is a recipe worth trying, especially if you are waiting for friends visiting for a beer and you want to surprise them with something pleasant.

Crispy strips with garlic sauce

Yesterday, following an extensive contest, Ligia Adam was declared Miss Twitter. Since I was part of the jury, I promised to dedicate a recipe to him here, on eBucataria. When she told me that her favorite food was "crispy strips, like at KFC," I looked a little cross-eyed - I've never eaten crispy strips at KFC, so I didn't know what they were like. But then I asked left and right and I made it okay :)

ingredients (for 2 servings)

  • 2-3 slices of chicken breast
  • 50 ml of extra virgin olive oil
  • 6 cloves of garlic
  • 1 teaspoon curry
  • the juice in half is lime & acircie
  • 2 cm of ginger root
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 2 teaspoons and a half of hot paprika
  • 1 or
  • 30 ml milk
  • 5 tablespoons cornflakes
  • 3 tablespoons sm & acircnt & acircnă
  • 2 tablespoons hot mustard
  • 1 teaspoon ground rosemary
  • much oil (for frying & icircn oil bath - deep fry)

I cut the chicken breast slices into small pieces, cut them lengthwise, then in half.

I put them in a bowl and over them I poured the olive oil and the lemon juice. I also added 2 cloves of crushed garlic, the ginger given on the small grater and a teaspoon of curry, for a special taste.

I mixed them all well and marinated them for 2 hours in the fridge.

When they were marinated, I prepared the cornflakes.

I put them in a bag and crushed them with the twister.

I put the flour in a bowl and mixed it with a teaspoon of hot paprika.

In a deep plate, I beat the egg well and mixed it with the milk and a teaspoon of hot paprika.

Then, if I still had time (not two hours had passed for marinating the chicken) I made the garlic sauce. I mixed well the other 4 cloves of garlic, crushed, with sm & acircnt & acircna, mustard, rosemary and half a teaspoon of hot paprika.

When the time came, I took the chicken fillets out of the marinade. I drained them, rolled them well in flour, then passed them through the milk egg and finally rolled them in the crushed cornflakes.

I set them aside and heated the oil in a deep frying pan. The oil should be 2-3 fingers high and be very well & icircncins. I fried the chicken.

After about 2 minutes, maybe even less, I took out the chicken fillets in a bowl lined with napkins (to absorb the oil). Then I put them on the plate with the garlic sauce.

I don't know how you are, but after eating KFC, I feel a little guilty sometimes, thinking about the oil bath in which the chicken that is now in my stomach was. KFC chicken is good, it's tasty, but you can't afford to eat it very often.

An alternative option would be to make it at home, and not in an oil bath, but in the oven. I tried a simple recipe, easy to prepare, and the chicken came out very good, very close to the real Crispy Strips from KFC. If you want to feel fulfilled - that is, to sin a little - you can buy your famous KFC garlic sauce, which, along with chicken, is a dream!

  • Greek yogurt
  • mustard
  • granulated garlic
  • paprika (or hot pepper, as desired)
  • mix chicken spices
  • cornflakes
  • eggs
  • rice (or wheat) flour

Method of preparation:

Mix the yogurt, mustard, garlic and spices in a bowl. Depending on the amount of chicken, prepare enough marinade in which the chicken will sit.

Cut the chicken breast into strips and marinate in the prepared sauce. The chicken can be marinated in the fridge for 1 to 24 hours.

The cornflakes are crushed and placed in a bowl. Put the rice flour in a plate. Beat the eggs.

After the chicken breast has marinated, it is passed through rice flour, then through egg, then through cornflakes.

The chicken strips are placed in a tray in which I put a baking sheet.

The chicken will stay in the oven over medium heat for about 30-45 minutes, depending on how thick the strips are.

Crispy strips of chicken breast (crispy strips)!

A real delight! We often prepare them! Be careful: it seems to be addictive!

INGREDIENT:

-½ teaspoon ground black pepper.

For bread:

-a tablespoon of Italian herbs (dried)

-3 dill or parsley threads.

METHOD OF PREPARATION:

1.Wash and dry the chicken breast. Cut it into long strips of equal thickness. If they are wide on one side, cut them into longitudinal halves.

2.Put the strips of meat in a deep bowl. Add the soy sauce, mustard, salt, ground black pepper and garlic passed through the garlic press. Mix well with your hands and let the meat marinate for 15-20 minutes.

3. Meanwhile prepare the sauce: put the mayonnaise in a suitable bowl. Add the garlic given through the small grater or passed through the garlic press, the Italian herbs and the finely chopped parsley / dill. Stir. The sauce is ready!

4.Prepare the panada: mix the breadcrumbs with the cheese given through the small grater (you can use parmesan). Mix very well.

5.Put the flour on a separate plate.

6. Break the egg into a deep plate and beat it with a fork until smooth.

7. Take a strip of meat and roll it in flour. Then dip it in the beaten egg and finally roll it in breadcrumbs.

8. Place the strips of meat on a baking tray.

9. Bake them for 20 minutes in the preheated oven to 200 ° C.

10. Serve them with mayonnaise sauce!

They are very fragrant, tasty and covered with crispy cheese crust. They are delicious both hot and cold. And the sauce gives them even more flavor. Be sure to prepare them!

If you want to get crispy spicy strips, add paprika to the breadcrumbs and cheese mixture!


Baked breaded chicken & # 8211 my way

Toast the breadcrumbs in the oven for just a few minutes. This is the path to truly golden, truly crunchy baked breaded chicken even with a short bake time (max 20 minutes for chicken tenders). PS Much MUCH easier than pan frying!

One dredge batter - the usual process for crumbing is flour then egg then breadcrumbs. For this quick ‘n easy recipe, I combine the egg with flour plus mustard and mayo for flavor + oil (attempt to replicate deep fried) to make a thick batter in which the chicken is dredged. This stuff is great glue for the breadcrumbs!

Clean fingers! Use tongs to transfer the batter slathered chicken into the breadcrumbs. Sprinkle over breadcrumbs to cover, press down to adhere. Transfer to tray. Marvel at clean fingers !!

Give it a light spray of oil, bake for 15 minutes and voila! This is what you get:

Meat & # 8211 I usually make with ribeye, rump or sirloin steak for this recipe. Choose nice tender beef steak, chicken thigh / breast or any of your favorite tender meat cut.

Vegetables & # 8211 Peppers and onion slices are ideal for this dish but you can swap with any stir fry vegetables to your preference. My mom used to make crispy beef with carrots and broccoli when we were kids and it tasted really good.

Stir Fry Sauce & # 8211 Sauces and seasonings can be slightly different depending on the country and family recipes. The most popular ones are Szechuan style, Peking style and Cantonese style stir fry sauces. In this recipe you will need only 3 simple basic ingredients, light soy sauce, honey and fresh lemon juice to achieve the mouth watering sauce. Sprinkle some salt to taste and add extra dark soy sauce for more flavor and color.

Versatile & # 8211 This dish is very versatile stir fry beef dish. It & # 8217s a dry shredded beef Chinese recipe that doesn & # 8217t come with loads of sauce. If you wish to make the sweet and sticky sauce, add 1 teaspoon of corn flour and 2 tablespoon of water in the sauce mixture. If you prefer the spicy sauce version, you can create Crispy Chilli Beef sauce by adding extra chillies and sweet chilli sauce.

3 Simple Tips

  1. Coating & # 8211 One of the frequently asked question is & # 8221 How to make perfect Chinese crispy beef batter that stays crispy? & # 8221 Corn starch or potato starch (flour) is the one that always works for me. Break one egg in the beef marinate before coating with flour to keep the meat moist and velvety. Why not use plain flour? Plain flour or all purpose flour can soften the meat texture when you toss it with the sauce.
  2. Marinade & # 8211 Marinating is a must! The steak strips will soak up all the flavor of light soy, ginger garlic, sesame oil and white pepper. If you wish to choose the cheapest steak cut, you can add quarter teaspoon of baking soda in the marinade.
  3. How to cut the steak? Say bye to all the chewy beef days. Always cut the beef against the grain into thin strips. That's one of the most important step to make the no-tough perfect crispy beef.

How To Make Crispy Shredded Beef

I use Rump steak in this recipe but you can use other steak cut such as rib eye, tenderloin or sirloin. I recommend to use the only steak cut meat because it cooks quicker and more tender.

Cut beef into thin strips. Marinate the beef strips with light soy sauce, sugar, ginger & garlic garlic paste, white pepper and sesame oil. Mix well and marinate for at least 15 mins.

In a small bowl mix all the ingredients from the stir fry sauce list and set aside.

Break one egg into the marinated beef strips. Mix well.

Coat the beef strips with corn flour. Make sure all the beef strips are separated. Toss the excess flour out before frying.

Heat the oil into high heat about 350 F. Add the coated beef and deep fry for 1-2 mins till crispy.

Remove from oil and transfer to paper towel or cooling rack.

Heat the wok / pan to medium high heat. Drizzle a tablespoon of oil, add the cut onions and stir for a few seconds. Then add the pepper slices, stir well.

Add the fried beef strips. For the sauce mix, add the spring onions. Stir well to combine all ingredients with high heat for 1-2 mins.

Transfer to serving plate. Serve immediately! Match with hot steamed / cooked rice or stir fry noodle. Perfect as a savory snack too!
